HEALTH SERVICE

Primary health care site and service provider for all undergraduate and graduate students who have paid a Health and Wellness fee.

COUNSELING AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE (CMHS)

The diverse clinical team at CMHS helps prevent and address behavioral and mental health challenges that may become impediments to students’ academic and personal goals by delivering high-quality mental health services.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH PROMOTION, PREVENTION, AND WELL-BEING

Provides a continuum of education, prevention, and recovery programs and resources related to alcohol and drugs, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and more.

INSURANCE

All Tufts students are required to be covered by health insurance (it's a Massachusetts state law). Choose from the Student Health Plan or your own private insurance.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS FEE

The Boston Health Sciences campus includes the School of Dental Medicine, the School of Medicine, the Public Health Professional Degree Programs, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and the Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

COLLEGIATE CENTER FOR WELLNESS (CCW)
AT TUFTS MEDICAL CENTER (TMC)

Offers support for health matters like the flu and COVID-19, as well as counseling and support for reproductive health and a wide range of other medical needs, although it is not intended to be a primary care provider.

Tufts University is piloting the CCW service for Boston Health Science campus students on a limited basis. Visits to CCW will not charge fees for Tufts Boston students during the pilot, but insurance may be charged for laboratory, radiology, or other testing as well as for referrals to specialized care.

OFFICE OF STUDENT WELLNESS (OSW)

Team members work with students to offer practical approaches to manage everyday stresses and life challenges, provide confidential advice for personal challenges, and make referrals for therapy or psychiatric care as needed for depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.

TALK ONE2ONE COUNSELING SERVICE

In-person and telephone access to confidential counseling.

  • For crisis or urgent assistance, the toll-free number is available 24/7.

STUDENT ADVISORY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (SAHA)

Provides multiple services for Boston Health Sciences and Grafton students, including:

  • Collection and screening of all required immunization documentation
  • Oversight of student health insurance
  • Oversight of the disability insurance for Dental, Medical, DPT, and PA Students
  • Administration of the voluntary dental insurance plan

The Grafton campus includes the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

CUMMINGS SUPPORT CENTER (CSC)

Assists students throughout their time at the Cummings School, including periods of critical transition and crisis, by providing support, guidance, and intervention.

COUNSELING SERVICES

Provides counseling and referral services by appointment or walk-in consultation. Crisis support is also available 24/7 by phone.

STUDENT ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICE

Supports students with common academic issues, including difficulties related to course load, frustration regarding performance self-expectations, academic burnout, stress, and pre-existing mental health issues.
